I have done my favourite things about Christmas in terms of songs and movies, netflix and decorations…so what else haven’t I covered? Ah yes, books! Except I don’t read specifically Christmas books, so I thought I would just name some favourite reads of mine and some recent reads that I would recommend reading yourselves! Here we go:
Forest of Hands and Teeth, Carrie Ryan: This is my favourite book series of all time! If you are into The Walking Dead or I Am Legend, you are 100% going to enjoy this book series. It’s about a post-apocalyptic world, but it is described in such a different way compared to many zombie media productions around at the moment. It actually suggests a normal way of living and it’s honestly such a great series, all three books, from start to end. I’ve read the whole series twice I love it so much
The Art of Being Normal, Lisa Williamson: I read this book recently and it honestly gave me such a new insight into transgender people. It educated me so much as well as entertain me. It’s funny, emotional, heart-breaking and you’ll be gripped all the way through, trying to understand the characters. It’s an amazing book and I honestly can recommend it to anyone and everyone, it’s so educational and such a great way to inform an ill-society.
Oranges are not the Only Fruit, Jeanette Winterson: This book I read for my literature coursework a year ago. It’s about a Christian girl who is trying to come to terms with her own homosexuality within her religion. It’s all about liberation, accepting who we are and realizing what is the most important things in our life. It’s quite a difficult read, but it’s worth every word.
Delirium, Lauren Oliver: I was sent this book as a gift for my 14th birthday present and it was such a good read that all my friends borrowed the book and I don’t think I even have it back now I think about it! It’s about what would happen in love was illegal, I think they are making a movie about it for 2017 but with a different name with Kristen Stewart? Read the book first you will not regret it! This one is also a series.
So, those are just 4 random picks for you guys. If you love books, you’ll love these ones. Trust me.
Merry Christmas and go nuts guys!
