Why complicate life? I love straight forward people, it makes life ten times easier.
We always have a tendency to overcomplicate things in life and I just don't understand why people can't live life being horrifically straight forward? I found this passage that read
"I love being horribly straightforward. I love sending reckless text messages and telling people I love them and telling them they are magical human beings and I cannot believe they really exist. I love saying "Kiss me harder," and "You're a good person" and, "You brighten my day." love being as straightforward as possible.
Because one day I might get hit by a bus.
Maybe it's weird. Maybe it's scary. Maybe it seems downright impossible to just be - to let people know you want them, need them, feel like, in this very moment, you will die if you do not see them, hold them, touch them in some way whether it's your feet on their thighs on the couch or your tongue in their mouth or your heart in their hands. But there is nothing more beautiful than being desperate and there is nothing more risky than pretending to care. We are young and we are human and we are beautiful and we are not as in control as we think we are. We never know who needs us back. We never the magic that can arise between ourselves and other humans. We never know when the bus is coming."
It really got to me in a way that made me really realise that I need to be more straight forward. I always complain about life being so difficult or how I don't have the things I want and it's all because I making it that way. We are not trees, we can move around, come and go as we please, so if we don't like where we are in life we need to get up and move. This is a message that everybody needs to learn because I know that everyone will be 100% more happier by just being honest with themselves and then going out and getting what they need and rightly deserve.
It's not only being straight forward in our actions, but it's being straight forward in the way we think also. For example, if someone seriously wants to be a part of your life, they will make a serious effort to be in it, no bad or excuses, that's just the truth. And if they don't, we need to accept this fact and move on. So we need to have this thought process in our heads that...we're being straight forward so we go and grab for the thing that we want, and if we can't have it have a straight forward way of thinking and go down the other route. There is no point mourning or trying harder, just be straight forward. I mean, it depends on the context as to whether you do try harder, like if it was your grades for example. But if it was someone who doesn't care enough about you to try and be in your life, then hell yeah, take that opposing view and move on! Likewise, if someone flirts with you and leads you on but doesn't give any mention as to where they actually want to go with it, you be straight forward with them and see if they are straight forward with you. It really is that simple. And if it's not simple then leave, because life is too short to be making simple things complicated.
I think to some extent, that being straight forward also requires quite a valiant approach. As some of things we want in life we will really have to have that courage to go and grab it. Recently, I had a friend who took a straight forward approach after months of waiting and finally went and grabbed what they wanted. I am sure that if you knew who they were and asked if they felt better they would agree they do 100% despite not having that outcome they wanted. Recently, I had taken a straight forward approach to someone who was being awkward with me. And I didn't receive the answer I wanted, but it was the answer I required in order to finally go down the opposing route. I am not saying it's no longer hard or doesn't hurt because it's a straight forward method, because it does. But it honestly makes you feel better knowing you have a sense of direction in your life and therefore a sense of purpose.
So why complicate life?
If you miss someone...call.
If you want to change...change.
Want to do well...do well.
Want to be understood...explain.
Want to fall in love...be reckless.
Have questions...ask.
Don't like something...say it.
You want to be with someone...be with them.
You love someone...tell them.
We only have one life, so why not keep it simple? There doesn't have to be any betweens, there doesn't have to be any shade of gray if that's not the way you need it. It's nice, sometimes...to be in-between and have these decisions and to toy around with your emotions sometimes because it's all apart of growing up.
But you do know what's also nice?
Simplicity.
Go nuts guys.
